Tickets go on sale this week for the Big Sky Institute’s Evening Gala, which will be held on Saturday, August 2 at the BSI site adjacent to Ophir School. The event, which has sold out for the past two years, is fast becoming the can’t-miss ticket in summer charitable events in Big Sky.

The Greater Yellowstone Science Learning Center is announcing the debut of their new website, www.greateryellowstonescience.org. BSI has worked intimately with Yellowstone National Park and a variety of other constituencies to design and develop the site. One of BSI’s missions is to provide enriching, educational, and interesting programming to the public. Though living just 43 miles away from one of the country's top 100 universities, Big Sky residents have unique educational needs that are not directly served by Montana State University. The MSU & Big Sky Community Education Partnership will produce an unparalleled educational opportunity for Big Sky residents and businesses--one that is customized to serve the unique needs of this community.

BSI's summer newsletter is designed to update all our friends on the latest happenings at BSI, and designed to help you fill your summer with fun and interesting science events. The newsletter includes the latest news from BSI, a letter from the executive director, John Varley, and a calendar of summer science activities for all ages.

What does the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) mean to you? How do you see this region – it’s animals, plants, people, and places? Share your narrative through whatever means strike your fancy – art, words, multimedia – and submit your work by June 18th.

The Big Sky Institute now has a Big Sky office, with room for both of our new Big Sky employees, and space for meetings, activities, classes, and speakers. With information on cutting edge research, resources for learning about our ecosystem, and areas for conversation and learning, the BSI Big Sky office is a great place to drop in.

The Big Sky Institute has two new staff members right here in Big Sky. Together, Twila Moon and Katie Alvin will be providing education activities for all ages and working to make science accessible and fun for the whole community.
